My biggest concern at 9 was when someone told me animals don't have souls, therefore can't go to heaven. :o) Thanks for the reminiscence.Other Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09189646933597252108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6772849.post-85266173711859597512011-01-26T00:56:54.080-05:002011-01-26T00:56:54.080-05:00I was not raised Catholic but I am in a highly Cat...I was not raised Catholic but I am in a highly Catholic community so I can understand a little bit about your experience. I loved it. I think my girlfriends would laugh their heads off if they read it.

I didn't talk about my own faith in this prompt. I'm really glad to see someone else did. You wrote this very, very well!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18119718461267453386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6772849.post-17151403749283091102011-01-25T06:30:48.546-05:002011-01-25T06:30:48.546-05:00I'm about as far from Catholic as one could ge...I'm about as far from Catholic as one could get, but you had it better than me. In the very tight-laced Church of Christ, where you could go to hell for even allowing a piano into church, ALL sins could send you to Hell. Every tiny one. And since I talked back to my mom every day, I just knew I was going to Hell. I'd repent and try to do better, but she was so exasperating! I'd lay in bed praying forgiveness and hope I didn't think any sinful thoughts until I went to sleep. I knew full well the only way I'd ever make it to heaven was if I died in my sleep after asking forgiveness. Oh, and I worried that heaven wasn't going to be much fun, with all those gold streets and mansions. I wanted a heaven like my grandma's farm, with acres to play on and cookies always in a jar on the windowsill.Donna. Being Lutheran, I can't relate to it myself - but I do recognise a dammed good piece of writing when I see it. Really good - I enjoyed it.Altoniannoreply@blogger.com
