Round Robin Challenge

Second try

While going through my Bloglines I visited this fellow blogger friend, Carly and found that today was the last day to enter the round robin. The theme? Railroads! (Trains)! And I just happen to have one...

Taken several years ago at the Rail Road Museum in my hometown. The old train graces the tracks as you enter the area, very close to the road. Once, about a million years ago, when my daughter was young we would ride this train on various excursions. Like, Morgan's Raiders robbing the train and the Halloween Train. It was always a lot of fun.

This may be a coal driven train.

Find the other round robin participants here.

Hello Mary :)

It's so good to have you back with the Robins! :) I love the old-fashioned look of the photo, it was shot in sephia right? It gives it such a warm and dramatic look. This is a very creative photo. :) I love it! I hope you will consider joining us more often! :)

Always, Carly :)

Hi, Mary! I love the sepia effect here, perfect for the subject matter. And how cool that you got to ride it way back when.

I hope you'll do more Round Robin Challenges this year. You're an excellent photographer, and we've missed you!

I love the picture. Isn't Morgan's Raiders the confederate group of men who raided parts of Indiana and Ohio? I vaguely remember learning that in history. (I'm from Ohio originally)

Great black and white shot, it brings out the antique characteristics. My father worked his entire life working at the corporate offices of a major railroad, so pictures like this hit home with me.

Your train photo definitely stirs up emotions. I don't know if it's the sepia tone or the slight fog/blur but I want to be a hobo and jump on!

These old trains look so romantic ! It reminds me of my childhood when I counted the wagons and sometimes there were over 80 wagons !

What a neat train, and great shot! The activities that you and your daughter participated in on it years ago sound like a lot of fun!

I love this shot. It looks like it was taken back around 1910 or so. Very old-fashioned.

I grew up in a railroad town so this photo touched a really 'old' memory.
Stop by for a visit if you will; I have something for you -- and it comes with all sincerety.
