A MUCH LIGHTER NOTE
Woman Posse
One of my favorite blogger friends, Paul, suggested I do another series based on all the hints of "much more to the story" on a previous entry. Well, I might do that one later. I have been turning the phrase Woman Posse over and over in my head since I wrote those words last week.
And an idea was born. An idea for a series (which I love so much!!).
Look at the above picture. That was a birthday party in progress, I'm not certain who's birthday it is, but that is really not the point. The point is......LOOK AT ALL THOSE BOYS!!
Three of them are my brothers. The one showing his belly...my dramatic bro "T". The fat baby in the upper left corner in my Mom's arms, my littlest bro "P". Next to the belly showing show-off is the oldest brother, "N". The rest are family friends and neighbors.
At this point I have no sisters.
I do have ...... (now here it becomes a little complicated. I want to use real names, but I think maybe I should not. After all, I am using real photographs and that is exposing the guilty enough)....Twin.
I use "Twin" because we looked so much alike as children that at times when I look at an old photo and it takes me awhile to determine if it is me or her.
I am in the foreground holding Twin's sisters hand. Twin is behind us.
Same haircut! What the hell, did our mothers confer and decide the best thing to do was make all off us look exactly alike??
Anyway, this is my new series....All my gal pals because I needed them badly living with a bunch of brothers.

This should be good...
Comment added for Mark (because I love comments!)
Hi Mary
I visited BlogSpot and read your journal with the photo of the birthday party. I had started a BlogSpot account so that I could comment and wrote down the password and it says that it is incorrect so I cannot post a comment.
I wrote about how I had a grade school birthday party and we had the same knotty wood pine paneling in our basement as in your photo. I invited more kids from school than I had originally told my mother would be there. Her and my sister had to run out and get more 'Hawaiian Straw Hats' for the additional kids. I remember having a lot of fun! I enjoyed you pointing out who each of the kids in your family were pictured. 'Your brother with his shirt pulled up', lol ! Isn't that just like kids when in front of a camera to do something to make the photograph memorable! You were a cute kid!
Your friend,
Mark
This is a great time of year for a "nostalgia" series. I'm looking forward to it. Though blogspot wouldn't let me see your picture...
Aw heck, you just slap a bowl on the head and cut whatever leaks around the edges. Easy as pie.
Ian
Hey Hippie,
"Guess the Photo" is back, and is here to stay! Go to www.everyblink.blogspot.com to place your votes.
Thanks for playing, and spread the word ;-)
Whoa! Big family you got there. Hey, I can relate to the haircut. I had one just like it--the dorky 1/2 inch bangs, Prince Valiant do. You look very cute. Nice post.
I look forward to the series and by the way, that must've been a big style of haircut for girls our age when we were young. I have photographs with the same cut. Maybe the comment earlier about using a bowl is what they really did! ::shudder::

What a great pic. Now I know how my brother felt, surrounded by four sisters. Poor kid. However, I do recall him getting his own bicycle, and us four girls sharing one. I suppose being the 'only' has advantages and disadvantages. Tina
Great pic, and great post! I look forward to reading more on teh series!
We can't wait. Nice family.
Thanks for posting to my blog.
Who on earth was the first person to decide that a bowl aound the head made a great haircut? Luckily I avoided that - didn't work with curls. I just got stuck with short helmet head!
